May 20 - Arrival in Dublin

This morning we said goodbye to Collon and The Collon House. We  really had a good time visiting Collon and The Collon House was very interesting and great place to stay.  We didn't have a car but the manager of the house helped us out a lot and gave us rides to go see the various sites in the area.

Just outside the entrance to the house was the bus stop for Dublin.  Bus fare to Dublin was 10 Euros each which seemed very reasonable.  We checked into the Mespil Hotel in the center of town.  Here is a picture of the hotel.  It's very sleek and modern, but has none of the character and beauty of Collon House.

Tomorrow the plan is to visit the National Library for some genealogy research and then do a walking tour of the center of town.
